Leo and the strength card

Take a look at the strength card in the picture.

What does your gut say this card means?

The woman and the lion both seem strong, fierce and brave! Both should really be afraid of the other -think of the generational trauma lions have about lion tamers with whips and a chair??? And as humans we all get the idea of fear of big cats! They could really really hurt us, and if they are anything like our kitties at home who truly do their own thing….well….you get the idea.

But that is not what we see. We see love, we see compassion, we see gentle strength reflected between both of them. There is a sweetness here. Alongside that bravery.

So when this card pops up in our reading what does it mean? In general it is about confronting an issue with that energy of sweet compassion, with gentle guidance, a sweet pat on the chin-not a forceful push.

This card comes after the chariot in the fool’s journey of the major arcana. Our soul has learned to trust the journey, we have gotten to know our power, our intuition too, and there is a confidence here. We see a balance between the soft heart of the woman, and the fierce quality of the lion.

The association with Leo is not only because of the lion, but also because it emulates the energy of that sign: bravery, loyalty (think of how close the pride is), strong personalities, they often shine! This is also a fire sign, so in a way related to the passions of the wand suit in the deck.

Leo’s are also seen as affectionate and there is a lot of affection here between this beautiful woman and lion.

Leo is a fixed sign, fixed sings are the ones that are in the middle of the season (the others are taurus, aquarius and scorpio), and they are the hard workers, the doers, the high achievers-set a goal? They get it!

Notice the infinity symbol above her head? This is only seen in 4 cards in the deck: The magician, the 2 of pentacles, this card (strength), and the world. We see the soul finding more and more connection to the infinite possibilites of life. With each image our awareness of this has grown-the magician is learning to create his world, but he also knows there is so much more than the physical plane he is learning to control, the 2 of pentacles is learning balance, and what needs to be let go of to achieve that, in Strength we have learned all of that combined with the harmony of nature and man/woman. In the world card, we see the completion of this journey only to move on to the next lesson.

Life is a series of lessons and we are constantly learning and adjusting. Below are the cards images spoken about here.

And lastly I leave you with this little video of a clown and his dog. It speaks to me of the infinite possibilites available when we have the creative gentle strength of this card in our hearts, and a good relationship with animals. It also looks to me that there are a lot of infinity loops in their movements.
