Affirmations for the second line of the Major Arcana

As we move into the next stage of our evolution we arrive at the second line of our story. Here, with the cards from Strength to Temperance, we learn to turn inwards, we often see a deeper vibe of the cards that would be directly above them. Take out your deck, if like. and lay them out from magician to chariot, then Strength to Temperance, then Devil to the World. You will see the similarities in the vertical lines.

Affirmations

The graceful woman and her friend the lion remind us of the love and power we can gain with inner strength, with love and patience. This leads to infinite possibilities

After Tarot Deck

Strength

I allow my infinitely gentle grace to lead the way

I face my fears

I manage the situation with love and patience

This image from the After Tarot Deck is one of my favorites because he has his faithful dog. Walking up the mountain slowly with his lamp of wisdom to seek out his inner wisdom. When we lay the cards out in three rows like I am asking us to do in the exercise-he is below the high priestess. He has taken the idea of self study and inner gazing to a deeper level.

The Hermit

“Everything I need is within me, I don’thave to look outside for answers” Theresa Reed

“I heed the wisdom of the sages. Instrospection is the inner light that illuminates my lantern” Benebel Wenn

I create space in my life for time to connect with myself and listen

We all have to ride this wheel, what goes around come around right? But when we trust, when we know we are on this wheel it can all be smooth.

The Wheel of Fortune

I trust the wheel of karma to lead me to the lessons I need to grow into the highest version of me

I have confidence in my ability to learn, grow and take my life where it needs to go

I allow rest when I need it. Action when I need it. And as I ride this crazy wheel we call life I learn to differentiate what is needed where & when.

I honor my needs and rhythms.

We have arrived at the middle of the Major arcanas with this card. We are realizing how to balance our needs and others, and how to hold our boundaries

Justice

I embrace the middle of my journey, my past experiences lead to greater understanding and balance.

I treat myself and others fairly.

I create and maintain balance with my actions and thoughts.

I look forward to what is coming in my future knowing I have integrated my past experiences

Surrender to a new way of seeing

The Hanged Man

I allow myself to surrender and find a new perspective.

I can shift my vantage point to see new paths.

I can gain new wisdom in unexpected situations.

When I can’t find the answer I shift where I am looking (this one is really about our yoga practice-when we take a break. When we move. The answers can come)I can step away and come back to the issue with a new mind.

Another image from After Tarot, but we see no one can escape the changes that come when we shift. This card is about our self-initiated changes, not literal death

Death

I initate and revel in my change

I allow the old parts of myself that no longer serve me, or I have grown out of, to wither away and die

I allow for personal and spiritual growth

This image is from The Tarot De Marseille-one of the oldest Tarot deck. And with this card we come to the last of this second line of the Majors. We see moderation and balance. and alchemy. We now move into learning about the cosmos.

Temperance

I embrace the balance of my life.

everything in moderation, nothing in excess

I walk the middle path balanced between extremes

I am an alchemist of all my life’s experience
